Wholehearted Endorsement
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
~ James 1:27

A LETTER FROM THE DIRECTOR OF GLOBAL GRACE MISSIONS
Greetings from the board of Global Grace Missions. As Morning Star Baptist Church's missions and disaster relief arm, we believe the financing of Christian adoptions is one way to live out the love of Christ by addressing both physical and spiritual needs of people with whom we come into contact. Because of this, Global Grace has officially embraced Hannah's Heart, an adoption-financing endeavor that originally began in August 2005 as the burden of Morning Star's single adults fellowship.

As a church family, Morning Star's members have been striving to respond biblically to God's sovereign dealings and the opportunities He ordains in the world around us. The board of Global Grace believes that, along with our crisis relief work and ongoing projects, helping Christian families adopt children is in keeping with the aims of local churches' outreach, a proper application of the truth in James 1:27, and a chance to convert our earthly resources into eternal investments.

As people of Morning Star Baptist Church, we can see firsthand the wonderful benefits (both physical and spiritual) of Christian adoption. We have several adoptees in our congregation, including the children of our own pastor and his wife, Bob and Jennie Bixby. Back in 2005, we had been praying along with the Bixbys about a second adoption, and we knew that financial limitations had become a hindrance for them. In fact, learning that the Bixbys had just missed an adoption opportunity because of lack of resources became one wake-up call that spurred the singles to action as they were studying biblical stewardship and how to store up treasure in heaven.

Hannah's Heart is still a project-in-progress in many respects, and it currently falls under the umbrella of Global Grace. Even in its transitional state, Hannah's Heart was able to facilitate a large donation toward the Brown family's adoption of Grace Lu during the summer of 2006. That September, we had the privilege of helping to raise funds in a hurry so that the Murschell family could secure the adoption referral for their Chloe Jane. In January 2007, we had the special joy of helping Bob and Jennie Bixby adopt little Corban. All of these opportunities were direct answers to prayer.

Our most recent undertaking is to seek aid for the Foster family, who would like to adopt an 11-year-old Russian orphan named Lyosha. Lyosha was brought to the USA for medical attention, familial care, and spiritual teaching. We want to help him stay here with this loving Christian family.

Hannah's Heart takes the initiative to bring applicants to the board's attention for an adoption-financing project. It is our desire that Global Grace act only as a vehicle for those who would like to make tax-deductible contributions.

The board of Global Grace has wholeheartedly endorsed the projects that Hannah's Heart has undertaken in the past. We are convinced of the importance of transplanting needy children into loving, God-centered homes. We count it a privilege to help.
