There is excitement in the air during this time, but there is also a constant fear and wondering of how you will ever choose the right school. In the video, Sam can be seen waking for school, going to class, studying, and even enjoying time with friends before he goes to sleep and prepares for the process to begin again the next day.

Sam wrote a blog about the day along with the video where he shared more about how he felt about and liked studying at the Academy of Art University, in which he answered his own question, whether he made the right choice with, “100 percent yes.”

Max Salk: A Successful Generalist

A recent book called Range: Why Generalists in a Specialized World by David Epstein re-opens an argument on whether it is better to be a specialist or a generalist. Is it good to just focus on one subject to the exclusion of anything else? Is it okay to be a person that knows about many things but can still have a good career? Like most things, there are good things about being a generalist or a specialist.

The career of Max Salk, a landscape photographer and an investment analyst in New York, backs the argument that a generalist can be successful in this world.

Who is this generalist called Max Salk? Salk is an undergraduate of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He studied finance and history. His interest in financial markets started at college and it is where he eventually invested in stocks in his spare time.

Salk was not just interested in financial affairs in college. In the junior year of college, he went to study in Rotterdam, Netherlands. When he was walking around the harbor on a foggy morning with his camera, he took one of his first photos and fell in love with the art of photography. This photo is actually on his website at maxsalkphotography.com..

After graduating from college, he became part of PPM America, a Chicago investment management firm. He loved working at this firm. It quenched his financial thirst for making investing recommendations and researching financial and capital markets. He then Blackstone where he still works today. Even thought he is a Vice President at this company, he still continues to take photos of landscapes on his travels and they can be found on Instagram.

Max Salk is considered to be a good financial analyst as well as a good landscape photographer. Salk makes a good argument for a generalist who has still been successful in life.

Many car-racing publications have described him as one of the hardworking rally drivers, especially in the off-road category. On this 24th edition, he did not disappoint his fans. In addition to being part of the top five drivers, he won the second round of off-road race. Succeeding in this category indicated that Michel Terpins is still one of the best rally drivers in Latin America.

One of the main feature of this racing according to racing experts is its exhausting stretches. Unlike in other categories of rally driving, off-road is for the well-prepared drivers. Preparing efficiently for this competition according to Michel Terpins requires a lot of hours in training, regardless whether its racing season or offseason. After winning this competition, Michel Terpins acknowledged that winning meant a lot for him and his career and training hard was not an option for him.

In addition to the competition having some of the most exhausting stretches, it also subjected the driver to unfavorable driving condition. These conditions according to Michel Terpins test the driver’s abilitya to drive and persevere hard environment. According to him, he is fortunate to come from a background that was primarily sporty. In this environment, he learned the art of working hard and pushing his ability to limits. Driving and competing in this particular environment was therefore bearable for him. This ability and preparedness explain the reason why he was able to challenge some racing facts such as time and endurance.

Apart from the competition being home to challenges and unfavorable conditions, it was a place where coordination between the driver and the navigator was tested. Against popular belief in the racing world, Michel Terpins has worked with one navigator for some time now. According to him, Fabrício Bianchini has always been one of the best team players in the racing world.
