The Repton School Prepares Students For The Future

The Repton School has been providing unparalleled educational opportunities to young people since its inception. Founded in 1557 by a bequest from Sir John Port of Etwall, the school has a rich history. Repton School is located in Repton, Derbyshire surrounded by the beauty of nature. As a Christian based school, it prepares its students to have integrity, empathy and to be involved citizens of the world.

The student body is made up of both girls and boys, from ages 13 to 18 years old. The Repton School welcomes students from diverse backgrounds to attend the school. Parents can opt to either board their children at the school, or they can attend as day students. As a day student, attendees will enjoy the same level of academic challenges as the boarding students, and they are encouraged to stay as late as nine pm.

The academics at the Repton School are rigorous with a focus on the core subjects to promote a solid foundation for learning. The students start their weekdays early and often work into the evening to complete projects or independent learning blocks. Along with math, science, English and the humanities, there are classes in creative arts and foreign languages. The students also participate in physical education to stay healthy and fit.

The boarding students have full access to academic and recreational activities on the weekend. Day students are invited to Saturday morning breakfasts with their co-students and to complete assignments. Saturday evenings are active as well, with many activities like social events, live music and performances. Sporting events are also a key feature at the school, whether students are participants or observers.

There are always exciting new things happening at the Repton School, like presenting three outstanding scholars with STEM-based scholarships to support their future academic endeavors. The school is also proud to offer a new state of the art sports center to promote excellence in health and team sports, including a new swimming program. The school was also pleased to hear they have been put on the shortlist for the 2020 TES Independent School Awards, which is a big honor for the institution.
